Dr. Venkat Sainaresh Vellanki serves as the Consultant and Head of Nephrology, as well as the Director of Transplant Nephrology at Burjeel Medical City. He possesses extensive experience gained from his training and practice across North America, the United Kingdom, and India. Dr. Venkat earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Internal Medicine in India in 2004 and subsequently completed a Senior Residency in Nephrology in 2005. He further advanced his expertise through a Clinical Fellowship in Canada and is recognized as a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology in the United States. With a wealth of experience in the field, he has assumed significant roles in Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation. His expertise encompasses the treatment of kidney diseases, solid organ transplantation, clinical Nephrology, hypertension, and dialysis. Dr. Venkat is adept at performing a diverse range of complex kidney transplants, including ABO-incompatible transplants, kidney transplants for HIV-affected patients, simultaneous liver-kidney and kidney-pancreas transplants, redo transplants, paired kidney exchanges, and high-risk transplants. He has contributed numerous articles to medical journals and has held various positions on scientific committees at both the state and national levels of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN), in addition to serving as a reviewer for scientific publications.
